Google Has Officially Aquired GrandCentral
Announced on the Google blog the news we all knew would come, Google has aquired GrandCentral. We covered the beginning of the story when it was a rumour. But now it is official. You might be able to tell from the logo that has changed in the last few minutes (6:30pm ish). I added it on the right.
According to TechCrunch the figure is believed to be around about $50Million.
Google will be migrating GrandCentral’s systems over in the next days or weeks. Til then a limited number of invitations for GrandCentral beta accounts will still be available. If you have a U.S. telephone number, you can sign up for an invitation at www.grandcentral.com. Current GrandCentral customers will continue to have uninterrupted access to the service.

It seems a great move as Google is definitely expanding into “advertising and communications in sound” a phrase i just made up. I can’t wait to see what they come up with! Please read the older post to see a bit more about GrandCentral.
Maybe soon we will seen GoogleCentral or GrandGoogle?? YashLabs has already done some investigating!
