Confirmed: Google Buying FeedBurner for $100 Million

Google BurnerIt has now been confirmed that Google will now be buying FeedBurner for $100Million. This now means that the logo I made on the left might become a reality.

Sources close to the deal have confirmed this rumour that started last week. If you read how FeedBurner started you will see that hey have effectively turned £1Million of inital capital into now a $100Million profit. Apparently the deal has locked the founders in for a few years.

Sourced from TechCrunch

The company was founded in 2003 and has raised just $10 million in capital over two rounds. Portage Ventures funded their $1 million Series A round in 2004. The $9 million Series B round was closed in mid 2005 (second close in 2006), from Mobius Venture Capital and Union Square Ventures.

Personally i think that Google will somehow integrate FeedBurner into its Analytics program rather than keep the system separate. The combination of both tools would make a ver good statistics program. Congrats FeedBurner!

Atleast someone likes the logo I made!  Thanks Mark!
